It’s been a while since we shared a new blog post; we thought it would be helpful to provide you with some helpful social media tips to get you through 2015.
1. Use Social Media Management platforms.
If you have a business with several social media platform or are handling a lot of social media accounts at once, it really comes in handy to use a scheduling; these services include Hootsuite, Buffer & Sprout.
In addition to posting on several social media platforms, it also allows you to schedule your posts weekly or monthly and not making you constantly worried about what you should post as well as schedule them in ideal times based on where your audience lives.
Tip: Use Tweetdeck to manage your tweets separately as sometimes Facebook posts tend to be longer than what Twitter allows.
2. Post content and information that actually interest people.
People are constantly bombarded with posts on social media, like videos, news, photos, offers, etc. So please, for the love of God, please AVOID posts that push people to buy a product or install an app, posts that push people to enter promotions, and posts that reuse some content from other ads.
The competition is fierce and people are less patient and their attention span is almost nonexistent, so just make sure that you post things that people are actually interested in and relevant to your company as well.
Tip: Facebook has created the “Create Call-to-action” button, a button to get people to take an action from your page, such as shop or sign up.
3. Don’t try too hard, keep it simple & light.
You know you see these people that try way too hard, whether they’re your friends, the pages you follow or companies? You just find yourself cringing at their failed attempts at being different and overly clever.
Yeah, don’t be that type and keep your language fun, simple and light.
Tip: the most successful posts are those that people can understand, relate to and fund humor in and that’s how slowly but surely, you get more engagement on your page.
4. Share at least one post a day.
It’s important to stay consistent with your social media sharing, don’t overdo it, but don’t disappear either. Be there but don’t force yourself down people’s throats, it’s important to show that you’re there in moderation and provide them with cool and relevant and informative content.
5. Quality images matter.
Your social media channels are a great way to experiment with your creativity, so experiment with your posts, have fun with them, make them easy on the eyes, don’t use a lot of different colors in your images.
Bottom line is you should avoid clutter, keep your designs simple & sleek.
Tip: Make sure your Avatar, cover photo and post designs reflect your company image.
